Success for LoneStar at SPE Offshore Europe 2015

16 September 2015

From 8th – 11th September 2015, over 55,000 visitors from 104 countries attended SPE Offshore Europe in Aberdeen, UK.
LoneStar Group were amongst the 1,535 global organisations exhibiting at this year’s event, which spanned 5 large exhibition halls and had an expanded floor space of over 27,000 square metres.

Located on Stand 1C112 in Hall 1, LoneStar was represented by its two world class UK companies, LoneStar Fasteners Europe and LoneStar Leeds who both attended the show in 2013 under their previous company names.

In 2013, LoneStar Leeds was formed through the integration of two industry-leading companies within the Group, LoneStar Grange and LoneStar LWD. Then in 2014, LoneStar Fasteners Europe was born when 3 Midlands based fastener businesses, PRD Fasteners, Eurofast Petrochemical Supplies and Triplefast International merged and relocated to a new site.

With such development for both companies over the last 2 years, the event provided a fantastic opportunity to not only showcase the new brands to Europe’s offshore E&P industry but to also act as an excellent platform to proudly display quality samples from the extensive product portfolio they hold which includes high performance fasteners, gaskets and precision engineered components.

As part of lead generation and promotion on the stand, LoneStar ran a competition all week to win a premium Callaway golf bag.

In order to win the prize, visitors to the stand had to guess correctly how many fasteners were in a vase and write their answers on a business card. This competition proved a popular talking point for many delegates with guesses ranging dramatically from a low 45 pieces to a huge 14,000!

However, on the last day when the guesses were collected - there were in fact two cards that displayed the exact answer so a name had to be anonymously drawn. The lucky winner was then announced as Chris Simpson, Design Engineer at GE Oil & Gas with an impressive guess of 493 fasteners.

Overall, the busy show proved a worthwhile event for LoneStar with each day providing exciting opportunities to network with existing and potential new customers across a range of industry sectors.

With SPE Offshore Europe 2015 reaching record figures, the show sent out a very clear message that the oil and gas industry has a future for many years to come.
