Laminated zinc-nickel alloy electroplating

Laminated zinc-nickel alloy electroplating, otherwise known as nano galvanising, involves the deposition of ultra-thin layers of zinc-nickel using a tightly controlled electrochemical method. These layers form a dense, uniform coating that exhibits superior barrier properties and sacrificial protection. 

The coating thickness typically ranges from 3.5 to 8 microns, which is sufficient to provide robust corrosion resistance while maintaining dimensional tolerances critical for threaded components. However, these ranges can be increased to meet specific end-user requirements. 

The laminated structure enhances the mechanical durability of the zinc-nickel alloy, allowing fasteners to withstand repeated installation cycles and exposure to aggressive environments without degradation or loss of performance.

These advanced coatings are engineered to meet stringent standards such as ASTM B117 for salt spray resistance and ASTM F519 for hydrogen embrittlement mitigation. 

Laminated zinc-nickel alloy electroplating is particularly effective in environments with high salinity, humidity or chemical exposure, such as coastal infrastructure, offshore energy, and automotive underbody applications.
